Faculty Development Training (FDP) Trainers Training
The Faculty Development Program (FDP) is a structured and standardized training initiative designed to prepare and certify educators for effective teaching of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students. This SOP outlines a comprehensive, phase-wise approach to ensure consistency, quality, and scalability of faculty training across all campuses. The program is delivered through three sequential phases: the Pre-Requisite Phase, Transitional Phase, and Core Phase. The Pre-Requisite Phase focuses on developing foundational and proficient skills in Indian Sign Language (ISL), which is mandatory for eligibility. The Transitional Phase, known as the Faculty Readiness Orientation Program (FROP), bridges the gap between language acquisition and classroom readiness by introducing participants to the learning needs of DHH students and inclusive communication strategies. The Core Phase, the Inclusive Teaching Development Program (ITDP), emphasizes inclusive pedagogy, instructional planning, student engagement, and effective teaching methodologies tailored for DHH learners. The SOP ensures a controlled training environment with clearly defined roles, responsibilities, assessment criteria, and progression rules. It mandates strict adherence to timelines, 100% attendance, and performance benchmarks. Evaluation is conducted through a comprehensive assessment framework covering ISL application, teaching methodology, student interaction, and professional readiness. This structured approach ensures that faculty members are equipped with the necessary linguistic, pedagogical, and professional competencies to deliver high-quality, inclusive education, thereby maintaining uniform standards across all TEACH campuses.
